Joint statement on the explosions of March 31, 2026
SOS-Torture Burundi and the Raoul Wallenberg Centre for Human Rights have expressed their deep concern following the explosions that occurred at a military camp in Bujumbura.
In a joint statement, the two organizations emphasize the seriousness of these incidents, which raise concerns about the safety of civilian populations and respect for human rights.
They call on the Burundian authorities to shed full light on the circumstances surrounding these explosions and to take all necessary measures to prevent further incidents.
The two organizations also stress the need to conduct independent, impartial, and credible investigations in order to identify those responsible and ensure accountability.
