Weekly Report n° 433
This report by SOS-Torture Burundi covers the period from 23 to 30 March 2024 concerning cases of human rights violations in Burundi.
During this period, at least four (4) people were murdered in different parts of the country.
The report also deplores the case of three (3) people from the same family who were arbitrarily arrested and detained in the province of Mwaro and that of one (1) person who was abducted in the Bujumbura city.
SOS-TORTURE BURUNDI REPORT NO. 432 PUBLISHED ON 24 MARCH 2024
This report by SOS-Torture Burundi covers the period from 17 to 23 March 2024 concerning cases of human rights violations in Burundi.
During this period, at least seven (7) people were murdered in various parts of the country.
The report also deplores the case of one (1) Helena Hotel agent who was tortured by the Regional Commissioner of the Central Police Region in the town of Gitega, the case of two (2) people who were arbitrarily arrested and detained in Bujumbura city, and the case of two (2) people who were abducted in Bujumbura city and in the province of Cibitoke.
SOS-TORTURE BURUNDI REPORT NO. 431 PUBLISHED ON 17 MARCH 2024
This report by SOS-Torture Burundi covers the period from 9 to 17 March 2024 concerning cases of human rights violations in Burundi.
During this period, at least two (2) people were murdered in Bujumbura city and in the province of Karusi.
The report also deplores the cases of seven (7) people, including six activists from Agathon Rwasa’s CNL (National Congress for Freedom) party, who were arbitrarily arrested in the provinces of Kayanza, Ngozi and Rumonge, as well as the case of one (1) other activist from this party who was abducted in the province of Muyinga.
SOS-TORTURE BURUNDI REPORT N° 430 PUBLISHED ON 10 MARCH 2024
This report by SOS-Torture Burundi covers the period from 2 to 9 March 2024 concerning cases of human rights violations in Burundi.
During this period, at least two (2) people were murdered in the provinces of Bubanza and Cibitoke and one (1) was seriously injured by bullets fired by a soldier in the province of Bubanza.
The report also deplores the case of seven (7) people who were arbitrarily arrested in Bujumbura city.
SOS-TORTURE BURUNDI REPORT NO. 429 PUBLISHED ON 3 MARCH 2024
This report by SOS-Torture Burundi covers the period from 24 February to 2 March 2024 concerning cases of human rights violations in Burundi.
During this period, at least sixteen (17) people were murdered in the provinces of Bubanza and Gitega, including 15 who died in an armed attack claimed by the Resistance Movement for the Rule of Law (RED-Tabara), while ten (10) others were seriously injured in the same attack, which also caused enormous material damage.
The report also deplores the case of one (1) Mabayi zone chief who was arbitrarily arrested by agents of the National Intelligence service (SNR) in the province of Cibitoke.
