During this period, at least five (5) people were murdered in various parts of the country.

This report by SOS-Torture Burundi covers the period from 23 to 30 December 2023 concerning cases of human rights violations in Burundi.
During this period, at least four (4) people were murdered in different parts of the country.
The report also deplores the case of three (3) people who were seriously injured following blows and wounds inflicted on them by Imbonerakure from the youth league affiliated to the ruling party, the CNDD-FDD (National Council for the Defence of Democracy-Forces for the Defence of Democracy).

This report by SOS-Torture Burundi covers the period from 16 to 23 December 2023 concerning cases of human rights violations in Burundi.
During this period, at least thirty-three (33) people were murdered in different localities in the country, including 27 who died in an armed attack claimed by the Resistance Movement for the Rule of Law (RED-Tabara), while sixteen (16) others were seriously injured in the same attack.
The report also deplores the case of six (6) CNL (National Congress for Freedom) party activists who were arbitrarily arrested and detained in Ngozi province.

This report by SOS-Torture Burundi covers the period from 9 to 16 December 2023 concerning cases of human rights violations in Burundi. During this period, at least three (3) people were murdered in different parts of the country. The report also deplores one (1) case of a teacher at the Buta communal high school who was violently beaten and seriously injured by militants of the CNDD-FDD party (National Council for the Defence of Democracy-Forces for the Defence of Democracy) in the province of Rutana, as well as the case of two (2) influential members of the CNL party (National Congress for Freedom) who were arbitrarily arrested and detained in the province of Cibitoke. Finally, the report criticises one (1) case of abduction, with the risk of enforced disappearance, of a teacher at the “Ecole Normale Supérieure” (ENS) in Bujumbura city.

During this period, at least four (4) people, including a girl who was raped before being murdered, were assassinated in different parts of the country.
The report also deplores the case of three (3) people who were seriously injured by soldiers in the province of Rumonge, as well as the cases of three (3) people who were abducted by agents of the Burundi National Police (PNB) and the National Intelligence Service (SNR) in the provinces of Ngozi and Bujumbura respectively.

The report also deplores the case of a young girl (1) who was gang-raped by a group of three young men in Rumonge province, as well as six (6) people who were arbitrarily arrested and detained by agents of the National Intelligence Service (SNR) in Cibitoke and Gitega provinces.

During this period, at least two (2) people were murdered in the province of Kirundo and in Bujumbura town hall.
The report also deplores the cases of two (2) people who were tortured by Imbonerakure in the provinces of Bubanza and Rumonge.

During this period, at least one (1) person was murdered in the province of Makamba.
The report also deplores the case of one (1) girl who was raped and seriously injured in the province of Gitega, as well as the case of two (2) activists from the CNL (National Congress for Freedom) and FRODEBU (Front for Democracy in Burundi) parties who
were arbitrarily arrested and detained in the provinces of Bujumbura and Rutana.
